It's not a 70's obsession - it's a national treasure!
Are you working on an event to bring Hustle dancers together? Need a hand?
We'd love to promote your event!
Best practices for Hustle events (increases attendance & smiles) :
Contact local dance event planners before you do anything If there are gender-parity issues, ask those [with the best attendance record] what to do before you leap Plan your event so that it doesn't draw attendance from other events If it's reoccurring, leave enough time between them to maximize attendance Unless it's an emergency, organize only the best events with top-tier bands, DJ's and Venues Post and distribute competition results, make corrections immediately and publish notices & avoid any implied and/or false light by acting on all correction requests immediately.
Bad ideas (decreases attendance, weakens events, makes people frown) :
- Not having appropriate food, water, and logistics for your dancers - you want them back, right?
- Ending the dance early/leaving without notifying the dancers before they arrived- be considerate!
- Holding an event in the same location soon after a special event - exceptionally risky
- Not contacting other event managers - don't shame yourself, you need their help!
- Holding third-tier events within hours (or days) of a quality event - that's dumb
- Planning the event around a location instead of the dance & music quality - not a bright idea
- Planning events to satisfy a single person's needs, build you group instead - don't be dumb
- Spreading the word about mediocre events - attend if you have to, but keep it to yourself!
